Does anyone know if the Western Europe map is as detailed as the individual country ones? I'm off to Spain and could just buy the Iberia map. But if the Western Europe one shows as much detail, I would buy that and use it in the UK as well. then only needing one map.
I've tried online support, been waiting weeks.

You lucky thing off to Spain!
Your Western Europe map should be fine, what version have you got?
If you have a latest map and a 2GB version your map will be slightly more detailed. if not, it will still get you to where to need to go.
When I drove to Spain recently I used my trusty Navteq v6.75.1322 map. Had no problems.!
If there is an area you want checking in Spain for coverage let us know.

Ta for the quick response.
I already have UK and Ireland preloaded, version 8.4. I have been told that if I get the Western Europe map, the detail on it is not as comprehensive for each country as the individual maps. Is this true? Size wise, it seems too small at less than a gigabyte.
As my main concern is Spain, I would only buy the Europe for future use if the Spanish bit is as good as the Iberia map. I may take the odd trip to France.
Does that make sense? |

The `fine detail` in the WE v8.40.2561 which is lost is mainly only things like lakes/parks/and perhaps the roads not being as curved as some should be.
If you want this detail then see if the .2563 version is available to you.
If you has this map, then it will work continously for your france trips too!
You shouldnt find any difference in the Iberia map to the WE, as you wouldnt expect the UK&ROI one to be different either.
Hope that helps?

Thanks very much. I don't know which map it is, as the store just says 8.4. But I will get that now as one map makes more sense.
Cheers. |
