Could not use HD traffic yet again this morning. OK this evening. I may stop using the 940 and revert to the 530 as the HD traffic more often than not is not working in the rush hours. _________________ Drivelux |

Just had this email
Quote: | We would like to apologise for the fact that the TomTom LIVE Services have been temporarily unavailable.
The outage was caused by an unforeseeable power failure yesterday evening (Monday 2nd October) at 8:30pm at one of our locations. This morning (3rd October) at 10:00am the problem was resolved and all LIVE Services have been fully available since then.
To compensate you for any inconvenience this may have caused, we'll extend the duration of your LIVE Services by 1 additional day. This compensation will automatically be added to your service during the next two weeks. |

A free day, if you pay the £80 one year rate, that is an amazing offer of 22p compensation. _________________ Drivelux |

I'm amazed that they have finally admitted to an outage - they wont do it too often though, as they would then have to properly compensate for the inconsistent service provided. When it works it is great but so often I find (especially at peak times when needed most) that it either wont connect or shows no traffic where there is some. |

I am happy that I bought a 930 and use the GPRS Traffic Service which has been faultless, especially when used inconjuction with Google Maps on my HTC mobile.

I think it is also typical that in the very email about yet another cock up they make a major error with the date. _________________ Tony

At least you got a day - here's the email I received -
"We would like to apologise for the fact that the TomTom LIVE Services have been temporarily unavailable.

We apologise once again for the temporary disruption of your LIVE Services.
Best Regards,
TomTom team"
I should consider yourself lucky ! ;) |

I think it was down again today (weds). Mine went off at about 8.00 this morning and hasn't worked since. |

Doesn't look like I have an extra day but I can't really check at the moment.
For me all Live services stopped at about 12.30 today. The network indicator shows a full signal strength but the status is Not Connected. I've tried a reset to no avail. Don't really want to do a full factory reset yet so I'll see if it works later.
Interestingly aas soon as I connect it to my PC and update via Home everything seems to work again. Very strange.
I'm still on my free trial and to be honest I'm not totally sure if I will extend that in January. |

It is working for me now, with 172 incidents.
@PaulB2005 - I have had it added. |

LIVE Services unavailable for me between approx 1pm and 2:30pm today despite numerous reboots, turning flight mode on and off etc.
They really need to get their act together on this sharpish as this many outages is not an acceptable service level. |
