Hi batties
I couldn’t agree more. I have to admit that if Tomtom had given me the same map each quarter and just altered the version number I never would have known. I have a colleague that has had the same Tomtom map for the last two years and drives around the country quite happy.
To put it into a nut shell, I have come to the conclusion that a new map once a year is ample and a new map each quarter a waste of time and money. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

Last time I checked it was still cheaper to have a new map each quarter than one new one each year. That's clever marketing of course, for most people a new map every two or three years would be more than enough how many actually buy a new road atlas each year? And they are a fraction the cost of a TT map. |

My experience with USA maps is the same. I'd say at least 1/2 my mapshare corrections are implemented within a year. It may be more than that, but I only check the biggies when I get a new map. Locally, I've seen a few new roads and intersections added that were so new, I didn't have a chance to send in a Mapshare correction. I'm quite pleased with how well the system works.
My complaint is Fuel Prices is NOT on mapshare, but would benifit quite a bit from it. |
