|
|
Hi all,
I have been using PND's for years, but having just got a Symbian smartphone I thought I would try out Garmin XT on it.
No problem installing Garmin on the phone.
No problem using POI Loader to put the PGPSW database onto the Garmin card.
I now have a file F:\Garmin\poi\POI.GPI, size 840.4 kB, which seems in order.
But, the cameras don't display on the map!
Under Proximity Points I have Custom POI Sets set to 'Enabled'.
Under MapFeatures I have POI set to 'Small Label'.
Under Map I have Map Detail set to 'Most'
I can't find any other relevant settings - what I am doing wrong? |

How far have you zoomed in on the map? IIRC with Garmins you have to get in pretty close before POIs show on the map. |

Hi Paul, thanks for the suggestion.
I have zoomed into the closest view - 120 feet.
The native POI's show at 500 feet.
I haven't tried Garmin's own speedcams file - understand that a free trial is available but not looked into that as I don't intend to subscribe for obvious reasons.

How many categories of POI are you loading?
Try loading just a few and see if that makes a difference. |

Paul, I did try various combinations.
The last one was just 30mph GATSOs. POI Loader said "Congratulations - you have successfully loaded 2675 points of interest on your device". They are set to display but none of them shows.

I think you may find that you have to go into the Settings, Proximity Points and Disable the Garmin Safety Camera option.
Enable the Custom POI set and it should work OK.
Hope this helps. |

Thanks for the suggestion briwy.
Unfortunately it isn't the answer. I have tried that, and every other conceivable combination of settings, but nothing seems to work.
