Have been using tomtom for about 3 weeks untill I couldn`t take it anymore as the lag is terrible. There is only so many U turns one can make in a month.
Downloaded Navigon and much better cos.
1. No lag.
2. Plays ipod tunes.
3. "speaks" street names and turnings.
I wish I had saved my money.
As the Dalek said when it shagged the dustbin " we all make mistakes".
Edit: Does anyone know why it is that I and others are getting terrible lag and others don`t have this problem? I am using full European maps, is that the issue? |

Stick with Navigon rather than address problems with the TT application as its a far better product.
As for the Darlek, well I have to say I have not had a laugh at a post on here in a very long time that came anywhere close to this one - I now need to clean red wine from the PC screen.
The ensuing debate we had with the kids afterwards (ages 9 and 11) was most interesting after they had come to see what I was laughing at!
I might be tempted to get one of the art applications fired up on the PC as the mental picure of Dusty Bin with a pair of red hands and an Emperor Dalek (think of the colour scheme similarities) to the cries of Levitate.... Elevate really doesn't have to go much further......... (warped mind) - Time for bed but lord knows what I will have nightmares about - Great one liner though - Mike |

- Follows your car more accurately while you drive
New "navigate to contact" engine:

Was just about to ask if anyone was seeing this update!
Any noticeable difference?
I ask as our version is issued to as direct and so we don't get updates. I'll have to ask TT for the update. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Mine updated over WiFi earlier this morning, having used it I am not too sure if they have improved the GPS positional data as it was all over the place and considering I was driving along the sea front its far from a built up area as there are no buildings at all on one side of the car.
Navigate to contact still strugles with some of my address book entries, what is annoying the update erazed my Liz Whitaker navigation voice file and PGPSW speed camera POI files so I need to add that lot back in - Then again I probably won't bother as the application is poor in comparison to what else is on my phone (Note for custom POI files and voices you need a Jailbroken iPhone) - Mike |

I'm hoping this will have an impact on the woeful on foot performance.
In fairness, in-car, I have found the app to very good. |

I've not noticed any real change with the update but the minor lag issues I had to look to be improved. Overall I'm happy with TT on the iPhone. |

And that would be no. Still useless on foot. Totally incapable of accurate location or direction at pedestrian speeds. |
