If you can't see any versions you probably did, which makes it more of a mystery.
If it was me I would probably download CCCleaner and run it to clean my registry and remove any old file leftovers - I use it regularly and it does a backup so is relatively safe to use.
I would then double-check all my files and folders (using search facility - Start / My Computer / Search) for any with a reference to Tom Tom or Home and rename any files that were clearly related to Tom Tom.
Having done that I would switch off my anti-virus (with reservations) and download Home 2.7 again from the TT site. I would try installing it again and after install I would re-boot and head for the bottle of Laphroiag - if it worked I'd have a celebratory dram, if it didn't I'd have a couple of drams to drown my sorrows.
Then I'd either switch my anti-virus back on or lay into the PC with a sledge hammer depending on the result! |

Hi rjbsec - a bit OTT but I'm interested in your CCCleaner. I did a search and got 2 references - cccleaner [3'C's] (RegCure) and CCleaner [2'C's] (CCleaner home page). They don't look quite the same - which is the one you use please? _________________ David

My error, the software I use is CCleaner (2 C's) www.ccleaner.com - I hadn't realised there was an imposter. |

Sorry to hear that, I would suggest that you have a conflict on your PC and a system check by a service engineer would be appropriate. |

Does it need Java to run the basic Home features (i.e. not 'Operate My ...'). |

The other thing to try is "net framework".
As has been said before it does seem to help in some situations.
