|
|
I have been keeping my GO530 up to date ,including maps and operating system. But seem to have corrupted some files along the way and now unit will not open further than the start up screen.
When I connect to TomTom HOME I can access all maps etc but not when disconnected.
I have the same problem whether I am using my latest backup on sd card in the unit or not.
Can anyone point me to a solution?
Thanks _________________ TT GO 6100 |

Thanks for link dhn.
I have followed the links at bottom of page and appear to have reinstalled an updated version of Home application , however it doesn't seem to have made any differance.
The unit still freezes at the startup screen _________________ TT GO 6100 |

First backup your device using Windows Explorer, not HOME. Then there are two things are worth trying,
Operate your device in HOME then edit a favourite or delete or create one.
If that doesn't work, look for a file called mapsettings.cfg on your device and delete it. A new blank one will be created but you will lose your favourites and and any POI warnings you might have set up, but it should get you up and running. _________________ TT Go Essential |

Thanks Calomax,
Although I can open HOME it will not now let me operate my device , it is blanked out.
I have also deleted the "mapsettings.cfg" on my unit using windows, but have not made any progress.
The unit will not now turn off using on/off button and I now have to use the reset button.
HOME indicates that the device is up to date
Not thown it out of window, yet! _________________ TT GO 6100 |

Once you have made that backup, delete all the "loose" files (ie the ones NOT in a folder opn the TomTom. Also delete the contents of the Home/downloads/complete/program folder on the PC.
Then connect to Home and select Update. It should download a fresh set of the system files. |
