I have been using Camara Zone database for a few weeks and all working well. Decided to give Ash 10 Camera Manager a go on my Garmin Nuvi 670.
Installed CM and set it to Garmin and it has downloaded the new database and says ready to install. Instructions mention that TomTom will install its self but as Garmin is not mentioned I assumed that it was a manual process using POI Loader after converting zip files. I was surprised when on launching POI Loader that CM says it was installing the new database.
Tested the Satnav to find Liz Whitaker still announcing speed cameras so I then ran POI Loader to remove old database and Liz's voices. Restarted Nuvi and now no speed cameras to be found, so adjusted CM to produce and new database and re-launch POI Loader where again CM says it is installing files. Tested Nuvi again and still no cameras.
Obviously I'm doing something wrong but a few pointers please. PS. notice files saved in CM directory are gpx files, do these need converting?

CM downloads it's own copy of the database so you don't have to. Once downloaded it generates the GPX file which you upload with the BMPs and voice files to you Nuvi with POILoader.
It might be best to delete any loose csv files in your POILoader upload folder. The GPX files are uploaded as they are. Note as they are several times larger than their equivalent CSV file POILoader will take considerably longer to load them to the Nuvi. It may even report that it is Not Responding. Leave it and it will finish. |

Thanks for your reply, I was confused by CM saying that files had been uploaded where in actual fact you still need to run POI Loader to up load files.
Have you any advice for using CM on Vista, works fine on home XP computer but works laptop uses Vista and CM thinks I am not logged onto this site? |

IIRC, you need to log on to PGPSW using Internet Explorer to be recognised. Don't know whether Vista complicates matters. _________________ David
