|
|
Now look, I don't want to get all of that my-database-is-better-than-yours business.
But I would like to know how submissions to the Tom Tom LIVE (née Road Angel) database are supposed to work.
My understanding is that mobile site reports are instantly distributed to all other LIVE subscribers when a report is received (not put this to the test yet). But what about new fixed sites? My understanding there was that those sites were uploaded when syncing via TomTom Home, and shared after verification.
Purely anecdotally, I have reported the new SPECS cameras in both directions on the A1 roadworks by Team Valley in Gateshead THREE TIMES in THREE WEEKS and they're still not being alerted on my 740.
Worth reporting to TomTom? Or just par for the course? |

I have done the same, for the exact same cameras Seamaster!
Whilst it will take time for TT/ Road Angel to Verify the reports, it would be much better if the Tomtom alerted you to cameras YOU reported.
These cameras are fully covered on the PGPSW DB, and have been for the last 2 weeks. _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE

Why not ask TT for an answer? When you get one, let us know. I think that you will find them totally transparent, and more than willing to explain how it works (Not) But presumably that's why you asked here
By the way. I don't know the answer to your question, but see the last paragraph of falkirk81's reply. |

No one knows the exact mechanism of the TomTom system, all we know is it isn't transparent and doesn't seem to work very well. |
