Sorry to raise this again but I still haven't had any resolution.
On my 3970 with ROM 2.10 I get this problem:
From a hard reset (to make sure the machine is clean) I install TomTom 3. Everything is fine. I then install 3.04T. It reports itself as 3.02T instead of 3.04T and Sutton Coldfield etc are missing. The traffic does work however.
If from the hard reset, I install TomTom 3 and then 3.03, it seems to be OK ie Sutton Coldfield etc are there. If I then install 3.04T it goes back to 3.02T and Sutton Coldfield etc have gone again.
Crazy ain't it.
Any ideas? |

This could be that the wrong cab file is being installed by ActiveSync, I have had installs before where a previous version is retained in the AS Install Folder and kept being installed in preference to the later version.
Ensure you have deleted any pre-existing files and then sign in to Traffic and download and re-install the v3.04T file available. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Where is the AS Install Folder that you refer to? Since I am starting from a hard reset, I have to create a new partnership with the PPC. I also delete the old partnerships. |

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Active Sync.
In here you'll find the installers for all (or most) of the apps you have installed and it is from here that AS accesses the app when you use Add/Remove after a Hard Reset.
I've checked mine and have no TomTom entries but I'll see if I can track down where they sit, some authors copy the installer to their own folder under Program Files but again, TT don't appear to have done this! Must be somewhere _________________ Darren Griffin |

TomTom seems to use temp folders on the PC for installs rather than create a permanent folder. |

On my PC (running Windows XP Pro), all applications installed to the PDA using ActiveSync are listed in the Registry under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\AppMgr\Apps
Each application has an InstallDir value showing where it was
installed from. All my TomTom ones show temporary folders that no longer exist on the hard disk. _________________ Barry Davies
