|
|
Having bought a new map in March for my TT710 at a cost of €80 my device has now died on me and so have bought a TT630 but the map on my 710 was more up to date, am I correct in thinking that I cannot put that map on my new TT630 and it has to remain with the (dead) TT710? _________________ Garmin Montana 650

The new 630 should have been supplied with Latest Map Guarantee, when you use that you will get the very latest map for your device.
You cannot use maps from the other device on the 630 as maps are locked to the device they are activated with, they cannot be transfered - Mike |

Thanks for the quick response, my map on the 710 also included more countries, looks like I have lost that one then, I will look into the Map Guarantee, I bought the TT outside of the UK but presume the Guarantee should be valid, the map that came with the 630 is Western Europe v810.1907, maybe it updated when I connected it to Home the first time. _________________ Garmin Montana 650

Make sure you select update my device and it will update the software to the latest version, then in Home click Tools/ Use Latest Map Guarantee this is rather well hidden for some reason
It must be used within 28 days of initial purchase of the device, that said I updated a device two weeks ago that was 18 months old and it let me use LMG - Mike |

Also, when using Home, use a different email address for the 630 from the one you used for the 710. A free throwaway one from one of the big ISPs is all you need. _________________ Gerry

It doesn't even need to be an active e-mail account or one that works, I have just made hem up in the past, as long as they are in the correct format say TT630@telewest.com or something similar Home will be quite happy to use it - You will never receive any e-mail from TomTom doing it this way, but does that matter? - Mike |
