Hi guys, thought it would be a good idea to update some of my poi's (restaurants mainly!!) from the free download list. I notice they have been updated, but once unzipped and installed in my Tom they dont show... what has changed to the simple download method?

Did you also install the BMP files
Did you enable them in TT? |

Hi,
I unzipped them then dragged both the bitmap and ov2 into my opened Great Britain map folder (which is where all my other original ones are and did work fine.) I notice the now have a 'PGPSW' in their titles, is this something to do with the problem?

Which TT have you got, and what software version are you using? On some versions there is a maximum limit to the number of POI categories that can be used (as low as 39 in some cases).
As it's clearly been a long time since you updated your POIs - the PGPSW suffix has been in use for a while now - and you have obviously duplicated some of the categories, by having a suffixed version and a non-suffixed version on your TT at once, you may now have exceeded this limit.
Try deleting some of the older files where you know there is duplication, and see if this makes any difference. _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

How are you looking for the restaurants on the TomTom? It may be just that you need to set them to show on the map now that the pgpsw suffix is on the name.
In browse map, tap the POI button and tick the ones you want to show. As Daggers also said, delete the old (non suffixed) ones to avoid confusion/old data. If you want a warning when near them, you'll need to set that up as well.
If you want to update again, it will just be a case of overwriting the ov2 file (unless the names change again ). _________________ Gerry

Its a original Go classic. I have deleted some others that I no longer require and removed the duplicated files that I replaced with the PGPSW files, but still dont show on map or in the 'enable/disable poi's'
When I installed before they automatically enabled and showed on the maps by default |

If you look in the map folder and count the number of ov2 files you have, how many are there?
If you download and install POIEdit on your PC (from http://www.poiedit.com/) and use it to try to open one of the .ov2 files on the TomTom, can it read it successfully? |
