Many Thanks to Darren Griffin for getting in touch with me and letting me post this here. Top Man
Hi all,
Myself & my friend Chris have both been affected by Cancer. Chris lost his father and I lost my mother in law. So we have decided to go "The long way Home" riding our motorbikes around England, Scotland, Wales then back to London. We are going to try and raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research so please help us by donating on our just giving web site here.
You can also keep up to date with our progress on our MySpace page here.
Any help other help please contact us at longwayhome@ntlworld.com
The bikes we are going to be using are Honda Africa Twin's. XRV750's. We've managed to get sponsorship from a decal company who has made up some advertising stickers. Also a metal work company who are going to be making some alloy panniers. Anyone able to help us please get in touch. For your help you will get free advertising on our website and on our youtube film. Also supply us with some decals and they will end up on our bikes for as long as we keep them.
Many Thanks for reading this,

Just a quick note to say I invited Russ to post here and I'm going to see what support we can offer him using our contacts, a worthy cause. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Just like to thank the members of the Yamaha Forum for the donation.
At the moment we are planning our route. Then some letter will be being sent out to camp sites to see if we can pinch a small corner of a field for nowt.
I'll keep ya'll informed as progress continues.

Just keeping you updated with our progress.
Our donations are now up to £485.00 which is great concidering the time of year and financial climate!! So a big thanks to those who've donated and to the rest.... You've still got plenty of time to put a little bit of cash away every now and then before you donate. Every small amount helps.
We've also had a company offer to make us some T-shirts. Not a bad design either. Anyway for every t-shirt sold they are donating £5.00 to our Just giving web site. I will post a link when its all up and running.
Regards

And just to confirm Russ, the offer of a loan RIDER2 still stands but you'll have to slap a PGPS Sticker on your bikes _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi all,
Just to keep you all up to date. We've got our "lift off" date, Saturday 7th August 2010. And our first day is going to be a bum killing one... 348 miles......... Should be fun though. Takes us to Northumberland.
Both bikes have been "played" with. Chris' one has nice new steering head bearings and mine has had the carbs sorted so now I should be getting about 170 miles to the tank.
Donations are up to £991.60 (soooo close ) so again many thanks to those who've donated. And again, those who haven't.. You still got plenty of time to save up those copper's. Just giving's website will take £2.00 and upwards so don't be shy and donate £2.00 if you cant afford anymore. You can even do it annonymously. We've had 1 x £2.00 annon already, so thumbs up to them. Whoever they were
Thanks again
Take care.
