TomTom Go 300 Canada map?

Hi,
I am planning on driving in Canada soon and was wondering what the best method of sat nav mapping would be?

I have a TomTon Go 300 currently with UK maps.
I've been on the TomTom website and the USA/Canada map is 600 odd meg in size.
Now seeing that I have a much smaller sd card I know I need a bigger one to download to.
My question is do you think my 300 can deal with a higher capacity sd card as its 3 to 4 years old? Or would it be simpler to buy a TomTom that already has the maps installed?

You could go for new hardware with all the maps loaded but sourcing a 920 or 930 would be rather difficult and whilst the 940 contains the necessary maps it also has the Live sevices built in. This offers a decent Traffic data system in the UK and later Europe but I don't know if it the HD Traffic would work in the USA making this a rather costly purchase.

If I were you I would get a decent quality 2GB SD card and copy everything from the old memory card to the new one, make sure the device works with the new card then update the software using TomTom Home to the latest version (free). Next purchase the map(s) you require - Mike

The 940 isn't available in the States (yet) and the 740 is not available in Canada.

Be aware that Canada is one of the countries WITHOUT Advanced Lane guidance for any map for any model.
