The bike mount is, I believe, an ABUS TexKF Mini.
ABUS also have a KF mount that attaches with a bolt.
All I need now is a suitable suction cup (and a place to buy the KF mount), any ideas?
The best I've found so far is this, a bit expensive.
I think a TomTom mount might do it too.

Personally I use one of these connected to this this.
It might be possible to bodge the Abus part to affix to the bolt on the mount itself?

| Depends on your vehicle but if it happens to be a Land Rover Defender the cycle mount as sold works a treat threaded through the screen ventilation slots. |

I made a clip using Polymorph plastic. This holds the Active10 at the correct angle and clips into the ventilator slots on any of the four ventilator positions for driver, passenger or shared.
Polymorph comes from internet suppliers or Maplins. It is moldable or weldable using hot water but makes a very tough springy clip at room temperature or lower.

Can you get the air from the vent hot enough to remelt it? 
Having thunk about it a bit more, I think I'll get one of these and try to get a bit of aluminium plate or a disc cut from bar stock that I'll tap 1/4-20 for the tripod screw and drill to fit the bike mount clip part that you can reorientate.

No, it is seriously hot water to melt this stuff.
I like the mouldabilty for making tools, fixtures and other useful gizmos. |

I have had something similar for my mobile phone for over 7 years. I cut away the suction cup and stuck it to the widscreen with black silicon sealant. Rock solid but easily removed with a stanley knife blade. |

Problem is that the police state that you should remove all evidence of owning a gps or some thief will smash your window just to look in your glovebox to see if its in there!

Well, it has arrived and I used it this morning. It is just deep enough to hold the Satmap, but I'm not entirely convinced how securely (although there weren't any problems on my drive this morning). The suction cup is good, and the arm is good in allowing you to bend the holder so that the Satmap is in the best position. The main issue is that the setup wobbles quite a lot, so I'm going to have to try and wedge it against the dash (without damaging it hopefully!). Alternatively it was supplied with mounts for the air vents, so I could give that a try.
For £4 it will do as a temporary holder, but I'm not sure how good it will be in the long term. |

I bought this setup, doesnt seem to grip the GPS well at all, how did you make this work for you? |
