Considering buying the new IQ One. Now I know this may sound silly but when looking at the online manual for the device the ‘display compass’ in preferences is not there. I liked the little compass icon on my old ONE and if I now decide to change will miss it. I e-mailed Tomtom and got the usual ‘your comments will be passed on …….’ |

It's under Status Bar Preferences. _________________ Kam |

Be aware the newer device have a true compass that only points North with no options associated with it like there used to be. It is also considerably smaller, go to Halfords or similar and take a look at the compass on screen, if its a major issue for you then you need to see this prior to purchase - Mike |

Thread moved to a more applicable forum section, this way it should attract more answers - Thanks - Mike |

I've often wondered how it's handled on this forum when I see "thread moved".
On other forums, there is the facility to leave a link to the topic in the original place, but if the forum software cannot do that or it's policy not to, then surely it's polite to PM the person and tell them where you've moved it to.... |

There is no need to inform anyone when you move a thread as all links to it including e-mail notifications are directed to the thread in question, its just the thread sits in a different forum section, I only mentioned the fact I had moved it as a polite indication to the OP that this forum section existed and would be more suitable for it to reside within (just in case he/ she decided to post further new questions) - Mike |

I realise the links and any email notifications are maintained, but what if you hadn't set up notifications (I never do) and just remembered that you had posted your question in a particular place?
No big deal, just wondering. |
