|
|
I have Western & Central Europe v830.2305 and noted last night that it has Malta included .... yet there's nothing on the TT website at all. They don't list it as an included country for the W&CE map.
Has anyone used their TomTom in Malta?
Cheers,
Mark |

Yep - it works, too! Just as well since driving on Malta/Gozo can be very difficult since few road signs/directions exist out of the towns!!!
Mind you, it might lead to too many people being able to find my favourite bathing spots! |

How did you find it with the many one-way systems?
I also noted the small "un-named" roads towards the coast ... suits me, too

I had no problems with the one way systems - most of my use of the map was out of town finding coast sites when the signs/directions were non existent and proved very difficult to find from paper touring maps. Gozo is my choice and it was so much easier to drive around to the hidden bays with TT!!! |

The new versions of Western & Central Europe mapping do provide cover of Malta, however, this is currently omitted from any website details.
I will pass on your feedback regarding this.
Please note that the map of Malta is not available as a standalone map, and cannot be purchased separately.

In future updates of W+CE Maps, will countries that do not have 99.9% coverage increase as TT/TA get round with their van? If so will this be included in the updates?
This may already be happening, but I have only just started using the W+CE Maps on a XL IQ Europe.
Cheers

That's because not everyone has a GPS based on Teleatlas data.
Another mapping company, or even just local knowledge, may lead a user to place a camera somewhere where there appears to be no mapping data _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE

The **only** LEGITIMATE place to buy any map for a TomTom is by using Home to connect to TomTom's site.
Any discussion of getting a map elsewhere (meaning, 'stealing') is totally inappropriate here and at every other legitimate gps site. _________________ David |

You can buy some maps on SD Card direct from TT, however we have found evidence that a lot of the SD Cards offered elsewhere are pirated. We even had one case here where a user was unable to add POIs to his unit because the maps had been "fixed" by the seller to work with his unit. |

To Paul:
Yeah, sorry.........I keep forgetting that TomTom does offer maps on sd card for European models. We in NA can't get them that way. _________________ David |
