Unless you have a lead lined rucksack the device will be fine stored in it!
I tend to use the supplied case for the device and wear it on my belt, this makes it easier to get at when walkng, has your new toy arrived yet? - Mike |

At the end of your walk go to the Routes Menu and select Convert Trail to Track, you can now name the file and save it to either the SD card or the internal memory.
If you ever fancy a walk around the Garstang area one weekend/ evening let me know and you can try my 25K scale maps of that area, at least you would then be able to judge what the difference is on the device while out and about. My 25K scale doesn't go as far East as where you are located - Mike |

You have the device in planning mode to put it in to GPS mode press the large button to the left of the cursor. If you knock the cursor it will drop out of GPS mode and go to Planning mode, if it doesn't say "GPS Map" at the top of the screen its not in the correct screen.
You get used to this after a while, but knocking the joystick which drops it out of GPS mode is my only real niggle with the device - Mike |
