Go to Trip Log page, press Stop.
Go to Main Menu.
Select Routes Menu.
Select Convert Trail to Track.
Press Convert.
You will find two files created and saved to SD card My Track x.map and My Track x Raw.gpx. |

New user, still finding my way round the Active 10. The above worked for me for a few days using the base map whilst cycling (and uploaded beautifully into bikehike.co.uk). However, I invested (heavily) in the full GB map on Friday in time for a good ride today, and now find when I copy the route to a SD card and then open the card via my Mac, there is only a .map file - no .gpx (plus a CID.xml, whatever that is). As I'm Mac based, with no SatSync, I'm stuck. What's happened to the .gpx data? The other problem is that the GB card doesn't even show up on my computer when put in a card reader, so I can't do any sort of back up - is this normal? I have a blank 512MB one which works fine. |

Can you confirm that the SD card tab is not in the write protect position. The Satmap will still show a file written to SD even though it is only present in memory and will not flag up an error.
The map is present on the SD card as a .map file, don't confuse it with the trail .map. The OS isn't hiding files with .map extension by any chance?
EDIT: Sorry you do say you can see .map files - in that case I'm sorry I have no idea why the map isn't showing. |

I'm suspecting that when I converted trail to track, for some reason it didn't create a raw.gpx file. Which is really annoying. Can you confirm whether or not using the OS maps, the Satmap should produce the same files eg .map and .gpx? |

The card should make no difference, the files should be written to the card or if not present or write protected then saved to memory. Certainly this is what happens on my version of the software(1.328).
If you have not cleared the memory you could try to recover the files by 'borrowing' the use an XP machine from a friend. |
