|
|
hi
I have installed 7.5 then 7.9 tomtom on my NEW HTC HD, and when it works, it works fine, BUT, it will only work if i download a quickGPS fix, and I have to do this each time I switch TT on.....
not to mention it keeps losing all it favourites and past destinations.....
can anyone advise what I am missing or doing wrong |

I expect if you left it open long enough it would kick-in.
Ive heard v7 is actually a bit quicker then v6.
ALSO when you have got a fix once - its usually alot quicker the next time you activate it on - almost instant.
To keep your favs etc - make sure your mapsettings.cfg file is NOT read only.
~ note these apply to all versions ~

Re:QuickGPS, have you set it to auto update when the data expires?
Also, the Touch HD by default has QuickGPS and Assisted GPS enabled by default.
They conflict badly.
Choose which you prefer and disable the other, my preference being to stick with QuickGPS so I am independent of cell tower reception. |

Thanks guys
Turning off AGPS worked a treat. so thats problem 1 sorted.
however
I have checked to ensure that my mapsettings.cfg file is NOT read only. which it isnt............ but it still forgets its recently visited and favourites.....
Is there any TWEAK i can make to the memory of the HD or its cashing process
