I have just started to get a problem with my Go 730 the display flickers brighter and duller during the day while driving and when stationary . I have tried both combinations of turn brightness down when dark and switch to night view when dark. Is there a sensor in the unit which adjusts the light all the time when the weather is overcast? If so this might explain this problem. As I have not noticed this before, I have just rolled back my Go to v8301 after I had problems with the voices and gps on v8305

The ambient light sensor is the small round hole at top right of the unit. The one to the left is the mic.
Try covering it with some tape to prevent it from functioning? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Go to change Preferences/ Brightness Preferences and deselect the checkbox for "Turn brightness down when dark" this should stop the backlight varying due to the sensor.
If you are still noticing backlight issues is it when the device pops a white text message with black background in the top right of the screen? - Mike |

Thanks guys for the reply.
The flicering happens when there is just the road on the screen, I have not had "Turn brightness down when dark" ticked makes me think it might be the sensor now I know where it is I will cover it up and see what happens.
Thanks Again
