|
|
I went to update my go730 before a long road trip this weekend and tomtom home tells me there's an update. I agree to the install. No problem.
I connect my go730 and 4 updates were loaded. No problem.
I go looking for additional updates. There aren't any available. No problem.
Using Home, I select the guaranteed map update and begin the download. No problem.
1 hour later, the download is complete and the install begins... and then errors out saying not enough free space on my 730.
I remove some of the voices I downloaded using Home and try to download it again... (kind of doesn't make sense for the program to download it again when it's sitting on my hard drive in a temp file)... no problem downloading.
Installing it again says not enough space... so I delete the rest of what I downloaded using Home and not touching the voices that were loaded originally...
Try it again.
Success... I thought. 730 rebooted and came up showing a red screen saying that the map wasn't "something" and to select another...
there's only 1 map to choose from and it won't accept that one.
Right now it's a paperweight. How do I get it back to work? |

Welcome to the forum, First off try resetting the device with a paperclip in the reset hole on the base of the device, if this fails to resolve the issue I would suggest you phone TomTom in the morning, their number is 0845 161 0009 - Mike |

If you need to download it again, moving the downloaded version out of the C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\TomTom\HOME\Downloads\complete\map folder and deleting it off your TomTom should force Home to download it again.
One the map is downloaded correctly, it should be available in Home/Add Maps (look for Location - My Computer) or in Add Traffic/Voices etc / forward arrow/ Items on my computer.
Most important question - did you make any sort of backup of the system BEFORE you agreed to the updates? |
