|
|
I have just bought a Garmin Friction Mount for a friend, and when it arrived it is totally different to the friction mount that I have, and the one illustrated on the web site. I 'phoned the suppliers who told me that this is the new mount supplied by Garmin. Anyone know if this is true?
The mount that I have is often referred to as a "bean bag" mount, and this is what I wanted. |

No, mine is the same as that. I was told that Garmin had replaced that with this new mount. It is described as a friction mount. |

I've got both ("bean-bag" & "grippy blob) for different cars. Both work fine in my opinion, but the newer one is easier to conceal/carry! |

A word of warning about the newer gel-bottom "beanbag" mount. If left in one place for a few days in very hot weather, it can leave a stain on some dash finishes. The newer gel base does offer better grip tho. _________________ Garmin 1695 / 255 / 760 w/MSN - Droid w/Google nav + Navigon - Navigon 8100T - Dakota10 - GPSMap76C - GeoMate Jr. |
