I have the full UK 50k maps, provided on two cards, North and South. I will be walking in the Peak District in June, and it looks to me as though the north/south divide runs right through the middle of the Peak District. Am I going to be forever swapping maps, or is there another way? I have some dim memory of reading that the full UK could be provided on a single SD card by Satmap, and that they will do this for anyone who has purchased the maps already - can anyone confirm? |

This is on their web-site Quote: | Map Consolidation

Map Consolidation
Many of our customers are finding that the Active 10 is so useful they are taking it everywhere with them. As a result, they are building up impressive collections of SD Cards. So that you don’t have to worry about keeping track of all these, we can add several of these maps together onto one consolidated SD Card. Depending on the size of the maps in question, this service might not always be appropriate, so please call us to check what is possible. | I guess this is what you are after?
I guess, if the whole of the UK was too big for one card, they would consider extracting a specific area onto the card - if so, don't know what that would cost, though. _________________ David

Thanks, David. Not sure I'd want to pay £15 for this, though. |

As a matter of interest, has anyone used the all UK 50k maps in the Paek District and had to deal with this issue? |

Shouldn't be a problem
I have plotted a route around the edge of area covered on all my maps, as it makes planning a bit easier.
I can see that the northern edge of GB south map cuts through the middle of Huddersfield. This is north of where the Peak District ends as defined by the orange area on the Satmap at the highest scale. It is also beyond the area covered by the Satmap National Park Peak District Map.
It would still be nice to have more than a 2km overlap between north and south. |

I live in Sheffield and am in the Peaks every week. I have the UK South Map in the Satmap with the UK North waiting for me to go to the Lakes or Scotland! |

Thanks, guys. Looks like I'll be able to get away with using South and it won't be a problem. |
