Can you check the contents of the file you pointed POI Loader at and count up how many custom POI Categories are in it? - Mike |

Let's start at the beginning. Can you switch on your nuvi at all? If not then it may be time for a hard reset as follows:
Perform a Hard Reset
1. Turn OFF
2. Press and hold bottom right hand corner of screen
3. Turn ON (continue to hold right hand corner of screen at this point)
4. A warning screen will appear asking if you wish to continue
This will erase all your settings and return the device to as new. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Check the folder on your PC that you point POI Loader at, this will still contain all the POI files you fired at the device, there have been issues previously when more than 256 or 257 custom POI categories were loaded to the Nuvi units - Mike |

That number is the individual POI locations, it is the number of custom categories that can cause problems. As you have it working again try a different mini USB lead and see if it is more reliable - Mike |

Then it might need to go on a diet, slim it down to just 256 custom POI categories and see if it behaves any better.
For example all the different categories for fuel can be concatenated into a single file as can the ATM machines - Mike |

Remove the POI files you don't need and get the number of files in the POI Loader folder below 256 individual files. Some of the categories can be made in to a single category by putting all the locations in a single file, this is what I meant by concatenating files (joining together) - Mike |

It always amuses me How can you have so many poi categories, what do people do that they would use them all.
I can understand people who drive for a living. Safety cams, eating, fuel, cash dis' etc, but how do they remember them all, and do they ever truly use them
Waiting to be shot down |
