Thanks Mike. I have already tried 8.320 but I still can't get my RDS Traffic Receiver to work.
Where could I get either 8.010 or 7.221 from? |

here's my ref: 090202-005509. I'm still working with TomTom to get this resolved but judging by the previous comments, it appears unlikely. |

From what I have heard, no.
Apparently quite a few people have contacted them but they have asked that it is not discussed on the forum whilst they are 'researching' this.
All I can say is that the more tech support call numbers that get logged the better, and if anyone can upload audio and even better video clips to rapidshare/youtube etc and then link to them in here it will add more weight to our case and the likelihood of any feature.

Many thanks Andy_P. Still can't get my RDS Traffic Receiver to work though (no traffic bar or Traffic screens showing).
Does anyone know what I can do to restore my 720T so the "T" works again? Wished I had never installed the 8xx Navcore updates now. Any deas which Traffic Files should be present on my 720T and exactly where should they be located ie just in route directory? |

CS,
Sometimes the traffic bar does not come up on my GO920. Invariably it's because I haev not pushed the RDS connector all the way into the socket on the TT.
If it still does not work, and you cannot borrow a GO or traffic receiver from someone else, return it to the shop where you bought it from, i.e. report it as faulty. _________________ Steveee

Knowing this you would think TomTom would want to fix this stuttering problem fast as we all know it can't be helping sales.
Sure there are always uninformed buyers but there there are always some who do look at forums and if they visit any TomTom forum they are greeted by a similar topic in all of them - stuttering problems.
These stuttering problems are also going to affect map sales as the majority of people will not buy new maps if the stuttering persists.
They also need to get more competitive with Garmin's lifetime maps and Navigon's fresh maps in the USA. |

Andy,
I am thinking that TomTom should just create a code fork from 8.010 and just add support for IQ2 and the 8.15 maps.
Apparently they have made a lot of changes from 8.010 to 8.300 and there must be a lot of code added/removed/changed to check for where they introduced the problems.
I still think they are wasting their time trying to debug 8.300 and/or 8.301 and I think creating a new navcore from the 8.010 baseline and just adding IQ2 and 8.15 map support would be the faster and smarter thing to do and it would keep their customers happy.
They then need to start having the navcore releases just have incremental changes so there is less to debug and we can identify any problems with that increment change so they can concentrate on that incremental change being executed properly. |
