Well an interesting afternoon with phone calls. It would seem that Sygic are telling fibbs about the fix for the Symbian device regarding the POI Bug......... Well according to Teleatlas support who are sticking to their guns with the response "We know nothing at all about this problem, never heard of it before and we definately have not had any discussion with Sygic and they DEFINATELY have'nt given us any patch's for the Symbians's".
Looks like its just going to go on and on and on .... |

TBH I would personally believe Sygic than TA as from my experience TA support is not very informed about anything.
They are probably saying they know nothing about the issue because they typically pass any software issues straight to Sygic to support without providing any help at all.
Good luck with getting this fixed though. |

Ok some good news this afternoon. Teleatlas support rang back to say they had spoken to the team that is doing the Symbian Bug update, and it is confirmed (and promised) for a date prior to 16th February 2009.
They are going to call me the morning it goes for public release on the "McGuider Assistant" update area, this will be the ONLY place the patch will be released, for them to ensure that only registered users have access to the update.
So a case of sit and wait and hope that we can finally use the PocketGPS Speedcam files with audio warning |

The latest FIXED McGuider application is available from the "McGuider Assistant" download area.
The Custom POI problem is now fixed and you can use the PocketGPS SpeedCam files along with custom spoken warning sounds :-) some other tweaks to the application as well.

I'll try and get a full fix list from my contact at Sygic, but personal opinion is, and this is based on driving the same routes as previously with the dodgy version:
Custom POI's now work as they should, with custom voice warnings.
TTF seems loads quicker now, especially using A-GPS.
Routing seems to have been tweaked, definately more accurate.
There now seems to be more road speed signs than previously
Maybe my imagination, but seems to run smoother and faster.
One point I did ask them to address, although really its only cosmetic. The new fix is V7.70 (1467) Yet when you go to About, it still shows V7.70 (1458) only a little point, but I think valid.[/b]
Soon as I get more information, I will post it here.
