Garmin just released this via Webupdater - hopefully it fixes the random shutdown problems (although not listed)
Changes from version 2.50 to version 3.00:
Added support for new MSN features - Weather Radar and Alerts, Send Routes to GPS, and Flight Delay Status.
Added support for ecoRoute features.
Corrected VIB support.
Updated to support new Audible book format.
Avoid Highway option now avoids limited access roads over long distances.
Adjust FM transmitter performance for Europe.
Corrected several issues with Language Guide support.
Enhanced A2DP (Stereo Bluetooth) support.
Added AVRCP (Bluetooth Audio Remote Control) support.
Added 3 way calling support.
Decrease traffic delay automatic recalculation threshold. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.70

I had a routing shutdown problem on ver 2.50 which I could replicate every time. I have now updated to ver 3.00 and tried again and my unit no longer shuts down, so they have certainly fixed some of the problems.

Early days but the screen re-draw seems to be improved on my 765. The Ecoroutes option is a welcome addition and the 'Driving Challenge' is good fun and a useful aid to driving. _________________ Darren Griffin
Had a 3 hour drive up the M1 and M6 today - not a single shutdown so this is a big improvement.
The Ecoroutes seems to work ok too with the option of downloading the trip report to a PC once you arrive at your destination.
FM adjustment now allows you to go down to 87.6Mhz rather than 88.3Mhz _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.70

Am experiencing regular shutdowns on Firmware 3.00 now - all seemed fine after initial install and I thought the problems of 2.30 were fixed. I have done a master reset which seems to work for the first couple of hours and then the unit shuts down on a frequent but random basis.
The diagnostic info report states "Bad Memory Point Blocks". Anyone know what this means? _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.70

Hmm I too would like to know how you access that? I only know of the info available by holding the battery meter on the main menu page but that doesn't appear to have any error diagnostics? _________________ Darren Griffin
1 - Hold the battery meter down for 5 seconds and you'll get a number of screens which tell you software, motherboard version, internal memory status.
2 - On the navigation screen, press the speedo, this takes you to the trip summary page, press and hold the speedo in the middle of the screen for 5 seconds and there are a couple more diagnostic screens as well as Bluetooth, traffic info. The first screen gives a log of error codes (if you have any). Tap these and another box appears with a load of code and an error statement at the bottom. There is then an option to "dump" the error reports.
I have seen RTL Trap, Uncommanded shutdown. SI and AWL in the error log, pressing each gives different error statements. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.70

Cheers for this.. I only had RTL TRAP, now to find out what it means....
I'm running version 3.0 on my 765 and had my first couple of shutdowns. I'll keep an eye on it and see if I can narrow down why it happens. _________________ Kevinw10000

I have had three shutdowns. They have all been when the unit has had the U-Turns avoidance set and when the car has been travelling in an area controlled by speed cameras. The speed camera warning displays and then the unit switches off.
My revent shutdonw coincided with using Roadtours and repeating the journey this morning with Roadtours turned off there was no shutdown.
Roadtour and speed cameras use the same grey box for notification so I wonder if it is tied in with that? Personally I haven't had a shutdown while using PGPSW speed cameras alone.
