Can anyone tell me if there are any licence restrictions regarding use of Satmap by anyone other than a private individual eg a company or organisation.
I know that there are all sorts of OS restrictions put on the likes of Memory Map but what about Satmap.
Many thanks |

jjb,
If you have some SatMap maps there is a booklet thet comes with them entitled " Care For Your Active10 & Tips On Safe Use".
If you look at this,on the second page is the EULA which seems to lay out the Licencing Agreements and so forth.
I can't remember if one of these booklets comes with the actual unit or not.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Ian
I have found the EULA
on the Satmap website now. http://www.satmap.com/pdf/endUserLicenseAgreement.pdf
"Private Use: This EULA grants a user permission to use PRODUCTS supplied by SSL on a non-exclusive basis for private, non-commercial use only".
Shame really as Satmap would be great for use in schools etc. Memory Map has an educational agreement.
Still a great product.

How is private defined? Do schools come under 'commercial' use? The news page shows the Satmap being used by various search and rescue organisations so is this a matter of interpretation or are there other agreements available. I would suggest clarifying the position with Satmap. |

If this is a usage you have in mind why not contact Satmap to discuss? _________________ Darren Griffin |
