If so, Right Click and select Exit.
If that works you will have to do the same every time that HOME is used. Sad |
That's done it - but I never used to have to do that!! | I was only aware of it since 2.5.x.xx, and it annoyed me. _________________ Richard

You need to delete the registry entry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\TomTomHOME.exe "C:\Program Files\TomTom HOME 2 \HOMERunner.exe"-s
This may vary depending on the directory you installed it to. _________________ Drivelux |

Thanks for getting to the bottom of it!
Whatever I used to stop it must have completely deleted the reference there, because it isn't mentioned at all now. |

Start Button|Run...|type regedit into the box|press enter
If in doubt don't mess with it as it can cause major problems if you make mistakes. _________________ Paul |

if you edit the registry I suggest you export the "run" key before you delete anything. That way if you delete too much or cause an issue you can import it again.
To do this in regedit click on the folder in the left pane you want to export which would be "run" in this case. Click in the menu bar on FILE then EXPORT then choose a file name and directory to save it to then save it. If you later want to import it again you can either double click on the file you saved in windows explorer or use IMPORT in regedit.
Of course if Home had been well written you would have had the option "start automatically with windows". _________________ Drivelux |

Thanks for the advice (both). No TomTom file in the registry so I guess I am stuck with deleting from the system tray every time I run it. _________________ Alan

You can CAREFULLY use AutoRuns to remove it.
Download, Extract, Run Autoruns.exe, Agree to License, Wait for program to fill up, Click "Logon" Tab, highlight TomTom entry and hit Delete. Say Yes.
Job Done. Close AutoRuns.
Use at your own risk etc etc etc |

I used msconfig and on the startup tab I removed the tick for tt home. Fine. Next time I connected my tt it asked me if I want to install Home!!!
