Have not used my TT ONE v4 for about 5 days. Came home today to find it had turned itself on. The low battery icon on the main nav screen was showing. I presume that it must have been on then for a couple of hours.
It's running App v8.010 with v815.2024 map.
Anybody else had this happen |

My One Third Edition has a habit of doing this, the 720 also did it for a while until a software update fixed it.
Log it as a fault with TomTom, the more people that complain about this inadvertant power up the better as they might do something about it - Mike |

Hello Mike,
Are you suggesting that this maybe a software problem with the current application that my unit is using
I will have to see if this happens again. I have fully charged the unit again so will leave it and see if at a certain battery level this may cause the unit to switch on. |

It could be down to the software although if you use the device on a regular basis you shouldn't see the problem, it obviously doesn't like sitting around doing nothing - Mike |

I get a similar problem, my brand new TomTom 920T switches itself on probably once or twice a day. It seems to stop happening if I hold down the button for 6 seconds while switching off.
In addition when the battery level gets down to 1/3 (and goes the level goes orange), it sometimes starts switching itself off and then back on, it can repeat this sometimes after a minute and keep repeating. Stops if I put it on charge.
Any ideas what might be causing it and is it a known problem? I'm on Navcore 7.221, might an upgrade stop the problem, or is it possibly a hardware fault? Or, maybe the battery needs sorting out since its new?
Finally, is there any easy way to see the battery level, ideally on the driving screen? |

This seems to only affect a few people's units and seems to happen across most software versions (althugh some say an update has cured it!)
It's one of the most annoying long-term issues that we've never really "got a handle on".
Having said that, to my mind v7.221 was one of the most stable firmware versions generally, so make sure you get a good (Windows Explorer) backup of it before you start changing anything!
The only battery indicator is on the screen you get if you tap the signal strength bars (or also when it has finished calculating a route). But it isn't very good.... |
