Mr T .. any chance of some junction numbers? I'm sending some other reports off to TT in a little while - it would be good to add yours too.

Edit - found the M5 incident in post #1, can't see it on my 940 now...
Are you using an x40 TomTom or the website?

but see my PM...

I replied to your PM then saw this, the incidents are showing as red chevroned accidents on the Route Planner and Online HD Traffic, they are now showing as grey line incidents on the 940 but were originally red chevron incidents.

The M5 accident is J3-4
The M54 accident is J1-J3
A12 is closed Leyton to Bow
M26 from M25 to M20 accident
A167 Chester le Street in County Durham accident

These all happened in mid December and no longer exist.

Also M1 Roadworks J6A to J10 finished on Dec 19th but are still showing.

Hi all

should my brand new tomtom 940 live be showing roads that are closed. today I forgot that the Litcfiled road was still closed as per other post, so I just followed my tomtom and it took me strait to the closed road?????

i thought it was supposed to stop this given that the road has been closed for a week now with diversions all around it.

thanks Terry

It will only be showing as closed if the Highways Agency are publishing it as closed and TomTom have received and correctly processed the HA data. It would also have to be a significant road or route for it to be displayed.

Report the details to TomTom. They need to know they are missing this sort of stuff.

Here are the historic and cleared closures and accidents in the South of the country but still showing as live on the 940:

Excuse my geographical ignorance, but does the road you mention fall within the areas that currently have HD Coverage?

As has been previously mentioned, (and as i suspected from day 1!) HD coverage is not yet country wide, and is not thought to be country wide until March 2009.

Discovered today that they [Tomtom] appear to have improved coverage in parts of central Fife however, as there is now information on significant roadworks on both A class roads and local/unclassified roads that wasn't included yesterday.

Hi there

I am in central Birmingham so yes is covered by HD, there was a water main burst on a 3way junction the road is the A5127 and B4137 both roads are 2 lanes wide and are used by thousands of cars per day.
see picture as the roads are a major rout in to birmingham city cent from the M6 jun6

I cannot see how this is not on Traffic as any rout planned on the go from where I work in Highgate goes strait to this junction?????

Thanks Terry

Whilst certain areas may not yet have full information provided by the input from monitoring mobile users they will still have the input from the other traffic services such as the Highways Agency which would be seen on the established TomTom GPRS based traffic service.

So if the information appears on the TomTom GPRS service and it does not appear over HD delivery, there is a problem with the TomTom HD Service.

Just a quick note here is a video of what happened

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=0PEg_ynzg44

as you can see it was big problem and is still closed because of the damage caused

also note this happened at 5am and hit the rush hour and later in the day it got to 2.5 feet deep

HI, I'm looking at the HD traffic map on the TomTom website (East Anglia) and there are several small "dots" on the maps. These are coloured the same as the delay indicators beneath the map but don't seem to be on the list of roads with problems. They also seem to come and go very quickly with each update of the page. Does anyone know what these are? Small problems that quickly clear perhaps?

Many thanks.

Talking of closed roads, I travelled from central London to Oxford at 10pm tonight and TT HD Traffic was telling me that there was a road closed on my route. I didn't believe it so refused the diversion. Sure enough there was nothing - what was this about ?
