|
|
Hi guys,
Could anyone out there give me some advice on this one.
I have a TT 510 and it looks like the charging block if faulty again.
This is the 3rd time in 2 years.
Sould I get it repaired at a cost of £55 or just go out and buy a TT one V3 for about £90. Brand new with 12 warranty?
The the main things I need my TT to do are POI & speed cameras.
Not bothered about using it for bluetooth or play MP3's / IPOD etc.
Many thanks |

I would be wary of any model that doesn't have an SD card slot - no expansion for larger/new maps and you're stuck if the internal memory dies (like mine has on one of my Go's)
If you fancy something new rather than a repair, why not search out one of the refurb. x20 or x30 models. You can get a 520 for £89.99 exc vat (£103.49 inc Vat) at Handtec. |

I should have mentioned that even though these are officially "factory refurbished" models they are absolutely perfect (down to the protective film on the screen).
PLUS, they come with a form of the Latest Map Guarantee, so you can update them to be the exact equivalent of the x30 models, with the new IQ routing and Lane guidance features.
Remember two things though:
1. You MUST make a complete backup with Windows Explorer as soon as you take it out of the box, BEFORE you do any updates with TomTom Home. Then you can get back to where you started if you don't like any of the changes made by an update.
2. You MUST update the operating software to v8 BEFORE you accept any map updates, otherwise you will only be offered the v7 maps instead of the newer v8 ones. |

Sounds good, Looks like I will get one for there.
But does anyone know how much Tom Tom would charge for repairing the charging block?
Thanks again Andy |
