This has led to one more proud owner of the active 10. Now just looking forward to it being delivered. Thanks to all on forum for helping make decision easy.

Glad to be of help. Pity they haven't got the maps I want. Still mustn't be too gready.
Trouble is I am finding it difficult to resist buying a lot of their other stuff. I've always thought them a bit expensive but with this promotion they are more than competative.

I've used this company on a number of occassions and they are very good. They also trade from ebay and amazon, and often you will find thier prices cheaper through the auctions - I got a map for half price through ebay from them. |

I was going to say the same. I doubt anyone can beat the Cotswold price with discount.
The Satmap hasn't arrived yet but they have debited my credit card so I hope it's on the way. |

The Cotswold deal looks unbeatable. Does anyone know of any good price for the full UK 50k maps and the power pack? (Cotswold don't list these.) |

Hi guys, if you're in the Forces or even EX Forces you get 20% discount if you go direct to Satmap. There are a lot of perks out there for serving Focres members but to get this kind of discount as an ex soldier is unbeatable! |

After much searching I think you will find www.globalgizmos.co.uk cheapest for maps. They don't charge for standard postage which can add £5 or more with other suppliers. |

Mine also Dave. Ordered very late Saturday evening arrived early Tuesday am excellent service. Bit of a bummer having to wait a whole couple of hours for the new software version v1.30, but hey I'm a patient sort of chap

Got a satmap unit 2 weeks ago after reading loads of forums and reviews, lots of negatives out there which up to now have been unfounded, gets a signal within 2 mins consistently, great bit of kit, very good.
Scoured the internet for a deal and found my unit for £249 from here
http://www.alloutdoor.co.uk/index.asp also bought a power pack for £45 totalling just under £300 . They are retailing near me locally for £299 per unit!!
Obviously up to the individual but dont listen to all the moaners out there with early problems with the units- all seems to be sorted now- for me anyway, seem to have a good unit.
Only downside is the price of maps......perhaps we could set up a dedicated swap/sell section for satmap map cards only?? |
