See below for the latest update from Tomtom - looks like the have realised that the problem is at their end. Importantly for me, they will honour the latest map guarantee even if I go beyond the 30 days.

At the moment I would actually advise you not to follow my instructions. I have spoken to our technical support team and they have advised to wait for the next TomTom Home update. At the moment Home is not recognising your particular software version. I presume you can still use your device as normal, you are just not able to update it. Your case has been logged, so if the thirty day period for the Latest Map Guarantee expires, we'll obviously assign the map to your account nonetheless.
