|
|
One of my staff has a TomTom One. She has never connected it to her PC so must be in need of updating by now. Since I have a 910 with all the latest bits I have been given the job !!
So a few questions.
1. The unit just has Tomtom One on the bottom followed by 4N00.004 so what version is the unit, just a basic One version 1 ??
2 The apps says V 6.500 I am running 7.903 on my 910 should this be the same for a One.
3. maps uk/roi v660.1199 again I have on my 910 v815.2023 should this be the same on the One.
4. memory she has 29mb of which 5.4 is free. Will the One take the full speed camera db or do I need to use one of the cut down versions ?
5 Any other problems I am likely to find with a One update.??
many thanks Kevin |

The easiest way to do that is to create an Account, at TT, for her Device. PLEASE don't use your Account details to do this, as it causes untold woes.

If it is the 128MB original card you MIGHT just get away with fitting new software and Map.
It would be better to get a larger SD Card, and keep the original as a usable Backup. _________________ Richard

Thanks for that, you say get a larger SD card. Do I remember reading a post a while back saying that the large ones will not work on a Tomtom.
If so what size would you say I need to get her. |

Anything up to a 2GB SD Card. You can Western & Central Europe on to that.
NOT an SDHC Card though. _________________ Richard

Not sure how the ONE v2 you have differs from the ONE v4.
When purchased it was:
App v7.522.9270
Map v715.1689 United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland
This unit was purchased in Nov 2008 and via TT HOME with latest map guarantee has updated to:
App 8.010.9369
Map v815.2024 United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland
You would have to purchase the very latest map. Not sure if you be offered any free update to a more recent map via TT HOME.
There is NO memory card slot on these units now, but TT HOME shows this:
IL #1: 'Memory Card' 824 free/978 total MB Block Size 4096 Media Name 'InternalMemory' serial $xxxxxxxx, Writable |

Ok here we go with the next part. I was given 2 2gb sd cards today, have backed up using windows explorer then downloaded the first update via home that took me to 6.560 from 6.500
All worked fine.
Next updated to 7.9 downloaded ok but when it tried to copy to tomtom one i got an error message. Wondered if it was because since I was using the old sd card lack of space.
So went through the whole of above again onto one of the 2gb cards
same error again.
For fun did the same again with the other 2gb card same error again.
this is what i was getting
ERROR: DesktopLib/InstallToDevice/Install/Single/Write: An error occurred while using this file: F:\data.chk
@ .\framework\InstallToDeviceThread.cpp(1199)
00000000
in .\framework\InstallToDeviceThread.cpp:1199
Stack:
0. chrome://tthome/content/ui/bindings/commit.js:74
error(textOrException);
1. chrome://tthome/content/ui/bindings/ttwizard.xml:1033
this._commitFailed(i, commitPage);
2. chrome://tthome/content/logic/util.js:77
return func.apply(obj, arguments);
3. chrome://tthome/content/logic/dllUtils.js:70
this._errorCallback(e);
4. chrome://tthome/content/logic/dllUtils.js:62
this._errorFatal(error);
any ideas please ?? |

My understanding is that Home needs .NET framework 2.2 to install and run properly.
So, if you go back to that site, see if you can install that software version.
Then try Home's install again. _________________ David |
