AFAIK, It's British so far as anything has a nationality on the Web!
All the Admin people I've met are British, (but at least one, Lutz, is based in the US), the subscriptions are dealt with in £ sterling, and of the text ads I see on the right hand side, three are UK-based with co.uk addresses, one (Proclip) is international and takes you to their Country selector page, and the other one (EvermoreGPS.com) could be anywhere! |

I had a quick rummage through my browser menus (Firefox) and couldn't see a way to find out things like that.... What's the secret? |

Many high bandwidth web sites are hosted in the USA due to the much lower bandwidth costs. For example one compant I use (1&1) does hosting in the UK and USA.
UK - £5/pm - 20GB/month bandwidth allowance
USA - $5/pm - 1200GB/month bandwidth allowance
So 2/3 the price and 60 times more bandwidth before you have to pay extra. |

We are a UK based and registered limited company. We choose to host in the US simply because of the massive savings in hosting costs. Nothing odd or unusual in such a practice, many high profile UK companies host overseas for similar reasons.
As to adverts, the vast majority are from UK advertisers. _________________ Darren Griffin |

This might be because of the power that is Google ads if it can detect which country you are browsing from. _________________ Dom

But, the forum members are a truly international lot and I would not wish it otherwise..... _________________ Gee-Pee
