Assistance/advice required
Hardware Ipaq HP1940
Globalsat BT308
Runs fine on TT3 but on MM2004 cannot communicate with BT308
I set up the 1940 to communicate with the BT correctly
On the MM2004 GPS set-up, I only see COM ports 1, 2, 3, & 9
I have tried all combinations with no success
I think the BT308 uses port 5 and/or 8 for its Bluetooth connection
How can I get round this
What speed should I be selecting
Also the BT308 uses SiRF, should I be selecting this type or the NMEA
I have searched the forum for similar probs but couldn't find anything.
Can someone help please |

This is the old issue! Every TT GPS driver since v2.08 blocks the BT Com Port preventing any 3rd party apps from accessing it.
The solution is to either remove the 'TomTom~GPS' entry and soft reset or uninstall your GPS driver and install v2.07 available here. _________________ Darren Griffin |

No problem, I didn't intend to sound condescending, it's just that it's an issue that has driven us all mad. Many of us have other GPS apps as well and need access to the BT Port but this is a problem TomTom don't appear to recognise! At least the solution once you know it is simple to implement.
Welcome to the forums anyway, always happy to help no matter what the question _________________ Darren Griffin |

Have you bonded it with your PocketPC? Also what GPS applications do you have installed? _________________ Darren Griffin |
