Welcome to the forum, I assume you downloaded and installed this using TomTom Home? - try resetting the device by giving the reset switch on the base of the device a prod with a paperclip, you won't loose any settings - Mike |

What software version is your device running, tap the Sat strength meter (Lower right corner) followed by the version box and it will state the software version on the resultant page - Mike |

Why can't you put the Kate voice in the LoquendoTTS folder on the device - Mike |

You might be better putting the "Western_Europe" map folder on to the SD card which will free up a considerable amount of room on the device, then put the Kate files where they usually reside on the device in the LoquendoTTS folder.
I have never tried splitting the LoquendoTTS folders and files between the two storage locations on the device - Just because Home let you do it doesn't mean to say it will work! - Mike |

Start by making a full back up of the device using Windows Explorer, there is a guide on the FAQ page see #1 on This Page.
Once you have the full backup you need to put the SD card into a card reader (or put it in the TomTom device which can act as a card reader).
Locate the backup on the PC and find the folder named "Western_Europe" right click this and select "Copy" from the pop up, locate the drive letter associated with the memory card and right click on it, from the pop up select "Paste"
Delete the Western_Europe" map folder on the device and you will have lots of space available on the device memory - Mike |

Easiest way is to use Windows Explorer, rather then Home.
With the TomTom connected to the PC, start Windows Explorer or My Computer (NOT Internet Explorer) and the TT will be shown as two new disk drives. The first (lowest letter in the alphabet) is usually the SD card slot and the other is the internal memory.
Simply go to the entire "Western Europe" folder on the internal memory, right click on it and select "copy", then select the SD card, right click in the Explorer window and select "paste". Finally, delete the original folder on the internal memory.
This is similar to how you create backups in the preferred way... in that case you select EVERYTHING, and copy/paste it to a new folder somewhere safe on your PC.
EDIT - Gah! beaten again! Similar process, but Mike's order is better, because you end up doing that vital backup FIRST.... |
