I have just seen a Satnav advertiser stating that "Carkits will be required by Feb27, Dont get nicked" and no other explanation, are we missing something or is this just an advertising ploy, It was on Fleabay.

It's probably a reference to the law that came in on 27 February 2007 which made it illegal to use a hand held mobile phone whilst driving.

There is no such law coming into force or even proposed for SatNav's, just marketing BS by the seller.

Its not just mobiles that is covered under the law.
It encompases any electronic device such as mobiles, sat-navs, mp3 players etc.
You get the same "punishment" for using the sat-nav on the move as you would using a mobile.
