Positively dangerous, It would cause bunching with drivers being zombies and what about the dilly doing 35 along the 50 stretch, it would cause more accidents, I can just imagine the cars racing mopeds along roads. _________________ Moto G5s Plus, Sygic 17.4.8 |

Another reason why it will never come to fruition! _________________ Darren Griffin |

This will never get off the ground, one reason GPS signals are very weak and easily blocked (tin foil, tunnels) and you can even buy jammers off Ebay that will blanket out GPS for quite some distances. Guess what i'd end up buying?? |

IF I don't have to pay road tax and *IF* they pay for the instalation and *IF* I can go back to a standard car after say 12 months, then I **MIGHT** consider it.
As for safety:
It must have a driver override for emergencies. Something like stamping on the accelerator in a similar way to auto gearbox kick down would seem a good way to do it. Also a warning telling you ahead of time when it is going to reduce the speed (in a similar way that satnav warns of speed cameras ahead) would give warning not to start overtaking at the last moment.
I'm not totally against the idea, but I want a carrot to tempt me. So yes, I'd give it a go for 12 months if they install it for free and I don't have to pay for road tax. |
