|
|
I have the new TomTom GO740 and have registered to PGPSW and installed the camera database with voice alerts and it works great (much better than the TT speed cameras). The only thing is that I don't want to have voice navigation turned on (i.e. "turn left in 200 yards.."), but I can't seem to find a way to turn off voice navigation without turning off the POI warning voices that I have installed. (i.e. the only sound I want my TomTom to make is when its telling me about a speed camera).
Any ideas?
Thanks everyone.
Richard. |

Hi, you will have to jog my memory, when you set the voice warnings up, I take it you said, "warn when on route", so if you untick the box, so it warns you of cameras, NOT on your route, then do not have a route set, it will warn you of cameras around you, with no directions. The only negative thing is, you get warnings for cameras that are in side streets etc. Another way round it, is to install the silent voice, and then have a route set, with the directions, but of course, you can't hear the directions, this way, you are only warned of cameras on your route. Personally, I just untick the box. Is this any good to you,

And there's a silent voice here.

The better option, with the newer Devices, is to set it up in Change Preferences.

Hi
Do not set a route then you will only get speed camera alerts or POI if set

But then you can't set it to only alert for cameras on your route, and you'll get lots of warnings for cameras on nearby roads. _________________ Anita
