OK, how to word this Mmmmm
I am a chauffeur and as such can't really have Jane or Kathy or whoever, say Turn left or Take the second exit etc... So on my old Go 730 I made a voice which was basically silent (I called it "The perfect Wife] sorry to all you females, anyway I could therefore still hear the Speed camera warnings but not the voice. Now on my new Go740 Live, this procedure won't work as my Silent voice file is classed as a human voice and therefore won't work with the spoken instruction feature. Can anyone think of a way to have
1 Speed cameras audible
2 Navigation voice NOT audible
3 Still be able for me to say instuctions
My God I hope this dribble makes sense Thanks |

On these devices you no longer need the silent voice. Just select 'change preferences', 'Voice preferences', 'disable' voice'.
That will silence the navigation voice but still allow your POI alerts to be heard. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Ok Darren's solution does solve 90% of my prob's, however one niggling thing is the fact that I can't adjust the volume of the POI's, ie when a passenger gets in or out of my car (Don't want them hearing POI warnings) So I have to "enable voice" in order to adjust volume. Still atleast I'm almost there. |

Do you need to adjust or disable POI alerts when you have a passenger? _________________ Darren Griffin |

I don't understand why...
If I "Disable Voice" I still have access to the normal volume control by tapping the bottom left corner of the screen.
You do get a message saying "you didn't select a useable voice" but the volume control still works fine. |
