|
|
I emailed Blue Unplugged to tell them they could be losing sales by not making their delivery charges clearer, and they replied saying:
"As you have taken the time to give your comments on this and also informed of other peoples comments, please feel free for yourself and fellow forum users to use the discount code of GPS5 on your next purchases."
I don't know what the discount is, possibly 5%, but better than nothing!
Edited to add: Yes, it's 5%. _________________ Anita

Could some kind soul do me a favour who has one of these ?
Could you measure the dimensions of the mount - I have a car that has a storage bin in the middle of the upper dash, and if this fits in there when the lid is opened then it would be perfect.
Thanks |

According to the Buy Bits website, the only one I've found so far that gives the dimensions, it's 210mm x 165mm and Weighs approx 800g. _________________ Anita

Just got mine this morning which is excellent service.
However it is no good for the 530 as the stalk on the mount that came with the Go530 is too short to stand on it. It is fine for the 940 active mount. |

Hi MrT, could you please go to your Profile and select a Avatar as you seem to be showing a blank. |

Anita wrote Quote: | I think the confusion over price is caused by the fact that Calomax lives in Guernsey, so presumably doesn't pay VAT. | BlueUnplugged doesn't deduct VAT for us, but my delivery arrived this morning and it was an adaptor bracket not the dash mount. I'm certain I selected it but somehow managed to order the wrong thing, although I followed Pocketgps' link, which opened the right item at the wrong price, which is where I clicked on "Add" so I don't know if there was a glitch on the website. I've emailed to ask if I can return it and purchase the dash mount.
Anyway I just went as far as the checkout and shipping is even better at £1.30 by DHL.
Anita, I couldn't see where to enter the discount code though. _________________ TT Go Essential |

Sorry, I assumed that was the reason for the different price.

Oh dear! What a bummer!

I've gone as far as the checkout and delivery for me is showing as "First class delivery - £1.49". The difference equates to VAT @ 15%.

The process I've gone through is:
On the page linked to by Pocketgps, click on "Add"
Click on "Buy now"
Either
1) select "Blue Unplugged Checkout"
Under the "Shipping Method" area there is an area headed Discount Code, with a box to enter the code and a button "Add Discount"
or
2) select "Checkout with PayPal"
Log in to your PayPal account
The PayPal screen has a link with the text "Enter gift vouchers, reward or discount".
Clicking on the link gives a screen with a box for entering the code
I bought mains chargers yesterday for my 720 and my mobile phone, using the discount code GPS5 at the Blue Unplugged checkout, and got the 5% discount. _________________ Anita

Thanks Anita, I think I must have been looking at the quoted shipping price before VAT. Some sellers deduct VAT for us but most don't and the amount isn't enough to quibble over.
I'll look out for the discount box when I reorder. _________________ TT Go Essential |

I've been using one of these Arkon mounts for a few months; huge advantages are: (1) I can easily remove the SatNav, place out of sight and not be left with a suction mark on the screen which advertises 'nickable SatNav' to the scrotes (2) It makes it totally easy to transfer from one car to another (3) Passenger can easily reach the SatNav, place on lap and re-programme if necessary, without a back-wrenching stretch.
Downside? - with a TT1 with the fairly long mount, the unit does vibrate a bit more compared to a 'rigid' mount, but not so much that it's a problem.
Overall, really, really pleased with my purchase - it's remarkable that it doesn't appear to slip at all on a wide variety of dash materials _________________ TT GO app on Android Phone

I have used Blueunpluged they were okay to deal with !!
With regards the Lakeland plastics one it is similar to Halfords and because it is a full circle base it is very hard to get it to tilt to reduce the sunshine glare |
