Having just downloaded the latest TomTom OV2 Speed Camera Database (5-12-2008), I have now lost all of my 'Favorites'! They have all dissapeared.
Has anyone else had the same problem? |

The speed camera database quite simply does not do that. Have you by coincidence downloaded a new application version or a new map? _________________ Dennis

Thanks.
I was pretty sure that it wasn't the fault of the Speed Camera Database.
Yes, I loaded an update from Tom Tom very soon after, an upgrade not a map, this I have e- mailed Tom Tom about. I guess this is where the problem comes from.
Thanks again. |

I'm afraid it is a well-known and long-standing issue.
Each software version needs to keep its settings for you in a single data file.
Different software versions MAY need to keep more settings, so the format of the file MAY need to change, so a new file is written.
However, depending on the particular versions you are moving from and to, the old file may still be compatible, and if it is, it can simply be copied across from your backup.
If it is not, there are alternative ways to recover your favourites - again from your backup.
Details on how to do this are in this forum's FAQs in the TomTom section HERE - #15 is the one you need.
Unfortunately, if you haven't been making backups (see FAQ #1!) then your favourites are lost..... |
