|
|
I want to buy the new x40 "Active Dock for fixed installation" that is now on the UK web pages. Not in stock yet, but is there a web shop that will have stock as soon as they are available? Or should I wait for TomTom to have them? (It would be nice to be able to pre-order).
So far I've not found anyone has them, but Amazon UK have an "TomTom GO x40 Active Dock Traffic" listed now, but no info to be sure it is the same thing.
What is the best strategy? Anyone got a clue as to when it will be out? Thanks! Matthew |

FYI, the www.tomtom-proclip.com site says they expect them mid-December, and are accepting pre-orders. They ship from the US though, so I'll be watching for EU vendors too. |

TomTom website will be selling this item for £24.95 so, even with postage added on, this seems to be the cheapest I have seen so far. |

Yes, when you add them all up, the one from the USA will cost about £40. dsldevelopments are quite expensive, but of course we'll be able to save 2p on Monday when the VAT change is applied. 8-)
I'll keep looking - having stock is the main thing of course... |

Sadly this appears to be the one WITHOUT the line-out and iPOD connector |

I'm trying to seek clarification on this but have you been told this? _________________ Darren Griffin |

No. Sorry, I should have made it more clear that this was just my speculation. However, it is based on the fact that they don't mention anything about line out or ipod connectivity at all - and I would have thought aht if it had it, they would have made sure to point that out. But as I said, that's just speculation on my part and I haven't had that confirmed by TomTom. |

TomTom have now confirmed that both the mounts available in the on-line store and retail outlets are the standard units, i.e. not the full featured versions.
The full featured mounts are are still being tested and not expected until early 2009. _________________ Darren Griffin |
