Well Black Friday is with us again. I was browsing the adverts for the sales yesterday and it looks like there will be lots of bargains out there.
A number of retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, Circuit City, 6ave are advertising the TomTom One 125 GPS System at $99.99 some with free shipping. The discounts seem to be mainly in the 20%-40% range with a few exceptional items with more than 50% discount.
Best Buy has a Magellan 1212 3.5" GPS receiver with text-to-speech for $79.99, compared to Target who are offering the same system for 99.99. So it pays to shop around to find the best bargains.
I wonder what the cheapest mainline PND will be this year? Will somone be selling a $75 or even a $50 SatNav? If you see a great bargain post it here and let everyone know about it. _________________ Mike Barrett |

What the hell is Black Friday???
I have been spammed endlessly about it, and now it's here as well!!!
Is it just a US thing? If it is let us know and we, in that tiny space called the Rest of the World, will ignore it

I'll let Wikipedia explain properly, but it's an incredibly important day for US retail business and even more so in the current economic climate. It's sink or swim day for thousands of US businesses.

I think the old saying goes that if the US sneezes the rest of the world catches a cold
BTW, a very significant proportion of PocketGPSWorld.com's visitors are American. _________________ Robert Brady |

And although essentially a US idea, many companies are offering Black Friday discounts in the UK as well, Apple for one. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Trust our American Cousins to move our traditional New Year sales, with the attendant queues around the block, to a cold wet Friday in November...
Mind you, it seems to be a free for all in recent years, with many companies... particularly one well known furniture store... ... having "sales" all the year round.
