Glad so many people have found this thread useful - yes it is a bit of a marathon to read it from the start!
Perhaps the admins should do a sticky with the just the links to the TTS7 files and a 'how to' guide???
Still running x40 navcore (navcore_8.204.9718.go940.cab) and am very happy with the performance. I can live without handsfree and don't actually have any PLUS subscriptions anymore so that doesn't bother me either.
I haven't tried the Bluetooth audio out to my car head unit yet .....
Bring on the HD Traffic receiver I feel the need to test and fix something else in my new found role as unofficial TomTom Beta tester.....

I have had a reply from tomtom support today regarding this problem. Here is their email:
"I have just had confirmation from our technical team that the issue you are having has been reported previously and we are currently looking into a solution for yourself and the other affected customers, as soon as we have a solution we will let you know.
Thank you for your patience and apologies for the inconvenience"
So at least they recognise a problem, we will just have to wait now. |

My handsfree is working as well as it did on the earlier navcores Andy... bar 8.3 when it was constantly connecting and disconnecting... my Sonim 1.5... JCB Toughphone... only calls out via the address book that I had to manually create as a txt file, and recieves calls OK, no text ect, but didn't have those features anyhow using X7 navcores... so that is down to my phone rather than this navcore.

Here is the response I received from TT today about my 920s stuttering (I have not followed the steps, I have only read through it):
Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support.
Your reference for your query is ****.
Please follow the steps below to reinstall your software and resolve the issue. We appreciate that this may look a little bit involved, but the steps below are necessary to cover all eventualities.
STEP 1 Install the latest version of TomTom Home
If you haven't already done so, please download and Install the latest version of TomTom Home from http://www.tomtom.com/home
STEP 2 Make a Backup
- Reset your TomTom device: http://www.tomtom.com/6965 and connect it to your computer.
- Open TomTom Home
- Click on 'Backup and Restore -- Backup' in TomTom Home 2.x
- Proceed with making a full backup of your device.
- See http://www.tomtom.com/3171 in how to do this also.
IMPORTANT: We advise you to follow the next steps ONLY if you have made a successful backup of your device as described in Step 2. If you are unable to complete step 2, please reply back to this email and let us know what happens.
STEP 3 Run a Disk Error check
- Click Start - My Computer and then right-click the removable drive for your TomTom device.
- Click Properties.
- Select the Tools tab.
- Under Error checking click Check Now...
- Tick both boxes and then click Start.
- For further information in how to perform a disk error check, please click on http://www.tomtom.com/8324
STEP 4 Delete the Application Files
- Open My Computer in Windows, you will see the TomTom as a removable disk. Double click into it.
- You will see a list of folders and a list of loose files
- Delete all of the loose files. IMPORTANT: The folders with their content must NOT be deleted.
STEP 5 Delete the Downloaded Program Application file on your computer
- Open TomTom Home 2.4
- Click on ‘Remove Items -- Items from My Computer’
- Tick the option for ‘Applications’
- Click on ‘Remove Selected Items’
STEP 6 Update Your Device.
Next we will reinstall the application via TomTom HOME.
- Open TomTom Home
- TomTom Home will check for updates. If not, click on 'Update my Go', or 'Update My One'
- In the list of updates, you will see a 'Program Application'.
- Deselect all other updates that may appear then click on 'Update and Install'. This will download and install the program application update.
- Please repeat STEP 7 until no further application updates are offered.
- Once complete, Click on 'Device -- Disconnect Device', then turn off your device and disconnect it from your computer.
- Switch the TomTom on.
- The device should load up to the map screen.
STEP 7 Run the Clear Flash Tool
- Reconnect the TomTom to the computer and switch it on
- Close TomTom Home completely. In the bottom right hand corner of your screen, to the left of the computer clock, right click on the red icon for TomTom Home and choose 'Exit'.
- Click on http://www.tomtom.com/updates/clear_flash/clear_flash.exe to run the clear flash tool.
(TomTom Home must be completely closed before running this tool)
- Install the Clear Flash tool _________________ Michele |

Hi Michelle,
I had a similar response and went through it all just to make sure that it might fix it..........it didn't.
Couple of points, yes by all means follow the instuctions and see what happens, but i would recomend you do a full explorer back up rather than using TThome or as well as.
Secondly when you delete the application it will probably reload v7.40 or something like it before it gets back to v8.3, just keep following the instructions until your back up to date.
When you have done all this and she still stutters, then download and install the LoguendoTTS file and paste into your unit as mentioned earlier. _________________ Go 720 v8.351 GPS v1.20 Boot 5.5120

Thanks Mr. Freeze. I downloaded the cameras from this site a few days ago and haven't done anything with the file because I'm slightly intimidated by it (after I look at it a few times it won't seem so scary and I'll proceed) and after reading the TT email I was in no rush to mess with all of that nor confident it would work. I'd also asked about my speed cameras going missing and step 1 for that was "reset factory settings"...not keen on that idea either. . So, I will most likely start with the LoguendoTTS file and then the cameras from this site and see how it goes. _________________ Michele |

I'd like to try 8.2 as I'm still having problems. Is there somewhere I can get navcore_8.204.9718.go940.cab as I don't think I've seen it linked in this thread?
TIA

Oh that would require a semblance of honest or organisation - and for TomTom I'm thinking NO |

RDS-TMC traffic works fine on my 920T with 8.203 so I would expect it should on your 520T. _________________ Garmin 3490 LMT

Before I attempt to get rid of the stuttering voice for good 2 final questions. Does navcore_8.203.9717 support SDHC cards and does it play mp3's? I have read somewhere that the x40's do not have the jukebox function.
Sorry if these have been asked before but my computer is on a go slow today and 19 pages is to much for it to handle today. _________________ TomTom Go 950 Live.
