Unzip the ui_igo8 folder and copy it to the iGO8 root folder on the SD card giving 'iGO8\ui_igo8'.
Start iGO8 and go to manage POI and you should see your new POI's and new icons at the end of the default icons.
If you don't like the new icons you can edit the poi_brand_rect.bmp files but make sure you retain the alpha data channel. |
When I browse through the icons, mine crashes as I try and browse to the last page of them, with the custom ones on I guess. It says it can't open them.
Any ideas?
Also, what are the rules if I want to change some of them to my own? _________________ TomTom 6 - SPV M5000 and WM6

For anyone wanting to use their own custom kml files and make them show up on the map do the following,
Navigate to these directories inside the data.zip,
data\ui_igo8\icons\poi\
and delete kmlpoi.icon
Then all your custom poi's ( Asda,LPG etc ) will show up on the map as you are navigating.
Hope this helps. |

I've done as above after converting my TomTom ov2 file to a KML file. I go to Manage POIs and I can see my KML file at the end of the list of POIs, I can also see all the new Icons.
However I can't change the icon, it just stays a globe icon. I have tried changing some of the built in POIs icon (for example Petrol Stations) and this worked fine. Just doesn't seems to work with the KML files.
Any advice would be most welcome. |
