Intermittent reset

My TT520 has begun to completely reset itself intermittently when in the car, about once every journey. When this started it lost all my specific sounds and the journey, although the actual journey was kept in memory and could readily be recalled.

Since updating my map, etc, when it resets it does not appear to lose any of my settings/sound, and just continues on as normal.

Any ideas?

Are you getting low on Free Memory where the Map is stored?

It used to require about 2MB for the Device to work correctly. It may need more with the later versions.

Does it still reset itself if you don't have a Route Planned?

I haven't noticed any initial resets - only when it is in use in the car.

Interestingly, it only started doing it recently but prior to upgrading the maps.

I had a pro0blem with TT Traffic recently but apparently it was at TT's end but before they discovered this they gave me some steps to follow including the use the Flash tool. I have an idea that it was after this that the resets started to occassionally occur.

In a previous thread I recounted the problem I had after upgrading TT to the new software.
Eventually, I settled on the new software but with the V7 maps. That was last Monday. Since then, TT has reset at least once on virtually every journey. The symptoms are the similar: complete reset, lost journey, but not loss of audio alerts.

I can't be sure, because obviously I'm driving at the time, but the initial reset seems to coincide with access to Traffic.

I'm definitely going back to the previous software.

There's plenty of free memory on the card

It only appears to happen if a route is planned. I'm going to play with it today prior to downgrading. I'll report back
